The Black Ministries Prison Ministry is devoted to caring about individuals within correctional facilities and their families that they affect; we seek to restore dignity, self-respect, spiritual regeneration, social stabilization, and moral worth to both the incarcerated and their families.
If your church is looking to begin a Prison Ministry program, here are some helpful steps we recommend to take as you begin this unique journey.
- Invest in dedicated prayer time for the incarcerated persons who are under correctional supervision, as well as their families.
- Invest in specific time to develop positive response strategies for “Returning Citizens,” especially those associated with your church congregation. They will need support and patience now, more than ever.
- Give Jesus a reason to say, “I Was in Prison, And You Visited Me!”
